Indiana Horse Rescue Help With People Visiting The Barn? What Should I Do?

Help with people visiting the barn? what should i do? - indiana horse rescue

So, I'm a volunteer senior rescue horses from Indiana and a group of Girl Scouts can come to visit and help. Im not sure now if that happens, or how many and how old. I wonder what are the things that can help. So far I have:
Pick-seater (we have about 30 positions are filled)
Groom horse (the easy and safe)
Hand block of salt / minerals
Maybe they get a horse saddle and bridle
-director speaks of "negligence"

Note that this is a rescue and many of the horses were not yet safe enough to leave the girls to feel good that experianced with them Arent.

I was not sure, pony ride horses, they kept in good taste or not .. broke
all the ideas we are very grateful!

I would not believe, pony rides, unless it is a very small group. Some reasons:
You should have a number of children have average helmets in their hands
That is all what will they think and remember the day
Large groups of girls are hyper-excitable and even broke a horse that can not even in this situation
The time it will take some time to reach them and around the ring, others are bored, bored, and children with anxiety ;-)

Let me be clear up front that they do not go there, but learning about horses and rescue are all think that it is clear from the outset,

His ideas, his unique, here is a possible timetable, follow these
Tour of the house (after a discussion about the safety of the horses in general)
Take a couple of horses and their stories, see and hear from a safe distance
Jobs every day and maintenance around the barn (which will be more willing to do the dirty work, having examples of why arE here)
Break is usually in small groups to ensure the horses
Speaking of fence, horse care, abandonment, etc.

I save a horse, and also what we do is what he said and did not talk about the abuse that has particular horse, and how we can prevent the mistreatment of animals as a group or community, but the color and flavor they leave a few days ago

I believe that the activities listed are a good idea. They are very happy to be there, so it is not difficult to converse.

I did not want to. You must first have permission from their parents and most girls do not have parents with them.
